Natalspruit Depot: 

 

The Botash SA “Natalspruit depot” is strategically situated on the Gauteng Reef in Alrode, Alberton – due to its ideal proximity to the Glass manufacturing plants in the region.

 

The Natalspruit depot comprises:

  • 24 000MT bulk storage facility (3 x 8 000MT silos) 

  • 2 000m2 warehouse facility (for bagged storage)

  • Administrative Offices 

  • Laboratory

  • Bagging Facility

  • Dispatch Office

  • Weighbridge

Bulk Soda Ash is loaded at Sua Pan, Botswana into dedicated railway wagons and transported to the Natalspruit depot.

The railway logistics from Botswana to South Africa is managed by two service providers who are responsible for different legs of the route.

 

Botswana Railways manages the Sua Pan to Mafikeng (South Africa) segment of transportation, and thereafter Transnet Freight Rail manages the Mafikeng to Natalspruit (Alrode) phase. Soda Ash trains containing bulk product are offloaded into silos after arrival at the depot.

 

Stock is then either dispatched to customers using bulk road tankers or bagged at the on-site bagging facility.
